Norway is one of our favorite destinations, because there’s no end to breathtaking vistas, mountainscapes, fjords and waterways. It’s no wonder that photographers are in love with the country. Once feared as a homeland of the fearsome Vikings, Norway is today a modern paradise. Visitors are drawn to the innovative Nordic cuisine, and the vast number of fjords that cut their way through the country. Fly up to the North in the winter for a glimpse of the elusive Aurora. Or go on a journey with Jerulita back to the Viking Age in Oslo.
While in Norway, don’t miss your chance to hop in a car and drive through the country’s timeless fjords. There is the wooden stave church of Ringebu, or the incomparable Stigfossen waterfall. Alesund is home to buildings built in Art Nouveau style, a picture-perfect sight for your camera. Head out to Geiranger Fjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, or explore the medieval Hanseatic wharf of Bryggen in Bergen. Of course, no tour of Norway would be complete without the unforgettable train journey from Flam to Bergen. The city of Oslo is home to the iconic Vigeland Sculpture Park, home to more than 200 sculptures.
Cuisine in Norway can be excellent and world-class – if you know where to look. Growing trends include seasonal ingredients sourced from local farmers. Naturally, Norway loves their seafood, with dishes like smoked salmon, herring, cod or Arctic char. If you’re joining our tour in winter, don’t miss a reindeer stew if it’s offered!
The Jerulita team goes the extra mile when it comes to Norway. Before each tour season, we stay abreast with all the new attractions and upcoming events for our tours.
