Minsk City Tour General part.
We will begin the Minsk City Tour on the main square. Just next to Minsk University and the Presidential Palace. On the main highlights of the square of Independence is the Church of Semion and Jelena built in neogothic style. Underneath the square, there is a huge shopping mole.
Will walk through the independence street towards the Republic Square. The place of meetings, demonstrations, and celebrations. On the way will see Soviet-style monumental architecture buildings, built after WWII. As Minsk was badly devastated, 87% of the city had to be rebuilt.
In to old city
A walk in the small part of the Old Town called Troyetskoye suburb. It is the only one survived part of the pre-war Minsk. Will see the Town Hall Square and go down through the narrow streets, towards the Svisloch River. One of the buildings used to be a Synagogue. Dues to the efforts of a Jewish architect it was renovated in an authentic way, but he had to hide its identity and made it into a museum.
Jewish sights of Minsk
We will visit the Jewish community center and a small museum of local Jewish History. Visit the Yama memorial for the Jews perished in Minsk during the Nazi occupation.
