Riga Art Nouveau
The outstanding collection of Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) architecture built on the streets of Riga at the very beginning of the 20th century. Riga is divided into the old city and the new city. The New City area was built up in the 19th century and rebuilt into Art Nouveau Style.
We will stroll the streets enjoying the ornamentation of this beautiful architectural style. Riga’s Art Nouveau is like a book for those who can read symbols, these building can “tell” us a lot of the architects and the owners. We will end our tour on Alberta Street where one can see much building designed by Michail Eisenstein, who was one of the most famous Art Nouveau architects in Riga.
