Tour to Trakai
We offer you a tour of Trakai. Which is famous for 5 lakes in the center of a huge national park. It was a capital of Lithuania before Vilnius and the residence of Grand Dukes of Lithuania. In the 14th century, the insular castle was built to repel the attacks of the crusades. It was ruined during one of the wars and was reconstructed to host a museum of Lithuanian history.
Trakai has more water than land and it is a beautiful nature spot where one can enjoy the 5 major lakes and a great number of smaller ones. One can take a break and rent a boat or yacht to enjoy the lakes and views of the castle and the Palace.
Karaite museum represents the story of this small ethnic group, brought from Crimea 600 years ago. Visit unique Karaite cemetery with Hebrew inscription on the headstones.
Tour to Kernave
Will drive to Kernave – the first capital of pagan Lithuania. This is little town is about forty kilometers from Trakai and Vilnius. It has five mounds, located near each other, in a beautiful nature spot – the valley of the river Neris. We have picked this location to add to your tour because of its archaeological importance and beauty of the area. By the way, it is one of four UNESCO acknowledged sites in Lithuania.
We will leave our coach and will walk through a small pedestrian ally to the big gothic church. Next to the church, one cannot miss the stone statue of Moses with ten commandments. Finally, we will enter the mound’s park. It is not a very big open space, but it has a unique atmosphere. You will easily imagine, how did local tribes protected themselves on the peaks of these mounds, and at the same time succeeded to be close to the river waters.
After a visit, we will drive you back to Vilnius.
