Day 1.

Vilnius City with a food tour

We begin with a full-Day Tour in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. Learn how Vilnius became the capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and one of the largest and most powerful states in Medieval Europe. We will see the relicts of those glorious days on the streets of the city. Stroll the maze of Vilnius Old Town. Be impressed by baroque style architecture and hear why Lithuanians like to name themselves Italians of the North.

In the evening, the participants will visit the culinary studio Ciop Ciop, where they will have a cooking class of classical Lithuanian Dinner, including the most famous Lithuanian soup that looks like a dessert.

Day 2.

Vilnius city travel

In the morning we will visit the local market. It is the best place to get an idea about the traditions and habits of local shopping.

We want you to learn about nationalities that found their home in Lithuania. Your guide will tell you what did the Lithuanian cuisine absorbs from Jewish, Polish, or Russian minorities.  We will notify the story of the Karaites. And unveil, what did they have in common with the most popular local street food.

In the second part of the day, our Food Tour will take a trip to the lakeside town of Trakai. It is a unique experience in Lithuania, including a visit to the medieval castle on the island.

You will enjoy the traditional food in an Old tavern located in the 100 years old wooden house.

Day 3.

Food tour is Traveling to Lithuanian Seaside

On the way to Palanga, we will stop for a tour in the second-largest Lithuanian City Kaunas. On the bus, we will speak about many aspects of local culture, including a fascinating lecture about Lithuanian alcoholic drinks.

Next, on our list, is a short walking tour in Kaunas. City, which was the temporary capital of Lithuania in the interwar period. If you have enjoyed a lecture about alcohol, you will like the visit to a local beer brewery. Avylis is a small enterprise, and they are always happy to offer a degustation and lunch to our clients.

Late in the afternoon, we will arrive at Lithuanian Seaside. We will have an overnight at Palanga. Palanga became the most popular seaside resort in Lithuania many years ago.

Day 5.

Food tour leaves to Latvia

In the morning, we will say goodbye to Lithuania and will depart to Latvia.  Our first stop will be near Siauliai. At the Hill of Crosses – the symbol of Lithuanian Resistance against the Foreign Law.

In the afternoon we will arrive at Riga. Riga is the largest and most multicultural city in the Baltic region. Later on, Lithuanians, Poles, Swedes, and Russians conquered it, each one at a different time. Our guide will reveal this complicated history during the city tour of Riga. 

In the evening experience, the dinner in the Medieval Style restaurant and realize how long you could survive on the Medieval Epoque menu. It is not a hundred percent sure, but usually, we go to Rosenglals. 

Day 6.

Riga city tour

And for the bel canto of our tour, we will take you to see all the beauty and splendor of Riga. It is walking in the Art Nuovo District with our guide.

Have a break at the cozy local café hidden in the Old Town, where we will taste the Black Magic Balsam and will hear the history of this Liquid Symbol of Riga.

Finally, you have some free time to discover Riga on your own. 

Day 7.

Riga - Sigulda - Cesis - Riga

Visit Gauja National Park, en route, enjoy spectacular views of Gauja River valley with Gutmana Cave, explore the ruins of the 13thC Crusaders Castle in Sigulda, visit Turaida Castle and the oldest Latvian Church, Krimulda. Visit the Latvian bicycle museum.

Drive to Licu – Langu walking trail. The trail is unique in the Baltics for scenic views of the sandstone cliffs and virgin forests.

It is about 5 km long and has a lot of funny ups and downs. So you will not be bored there.

We will visit one of the local manor houses. Here You can enjoy the museum of different barrels and ancient barrel tools, the barrel making process, and take part in making the barrels themselves.

You can order a barrel demonstration for a significant anniversary. Gaviļnieks also has the opportunity to participate in the creation of the barrel, which he will receive later!
