We will visit the Vilnius Synagogue, designed in the Moorish – Romanesque style. Then we’ll stroll through the medieval Jewish Quarter of Vilnius – the location of Lithuanian Jerusalem. We’ll pass by the music school where Jasha Heifetz, the most celebrated violinist of all time, started his career. Next is the building of ORT school, the House of the famous Tarbut Gimnazia, and the Jewish community center.
We will see the former Yiddish theatre. You will pass by the House of the Rabbis’ council and the place of Theodor Herzl’s meeting with locals. Next is the Benedictine convent, which tells us the story of saving 12 Jewish souls by Lithuanian Righteous Among the Nations.
Continue to the Vilnius Ghetto streets to see the Vilna Gaon’s House and the spot of the Great Synagogue. We will finish the Jewish Vilnius Walking tour on a German street, where jews had numerous shops, restaurants, and schools.
