Scandinavian Tour Package: Oslo and Copenhagen

We begin in Oslo exploring Norwegian arts by visiting Edward Munch’s museum and the unique Sculpture Park of Gustav Vigeland.

Day 1

Scandinavian Tour Package starts in Oslo

Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. This day is at your leisure, where you can recover from jet lag until the evening to take part in welcome dinner.

Day 2

Oslo guided city tour

In the morning we will have a sightseeing tour of Oslo by bus. Visit the City Hall of Oslo, where Nobel Peace Prize winners are getting the awards every year. Next is walking along the main Karl Johans street to see the Cathedral, the Storting (Norway’s parliament), the National Theatre, and the Royal Palace. Next, we will visit the world-famous Norwegian artist Edward Munch museum. In the evening, enjoy walking on the roofs of Oslo modern Opera House and observe spectacular views of Oslo fjord before the music performance of the day.

Day 3

Oslofjord cruise and Viking Ship Museum

Today we will visit the Viking Ship Museum in Oslo that houses three completely preserved Viking era vessels. They were excavated from an ancient ship burial and display the artifacts of the 8-9th centuries. Afterward, we will take a 2 hours boat cruise of Oslofjord and will enjoy spectacular seascapes. Like ancient Vikings, you will pass through the narrow channels, and discover numerous islands with colorful wooden houses. A dream for photographers to take pictures of Northern scenery and fantastic city views.

Day 4

Journey from Oslo to Copenhagen

We will visit the unique Vigeland Sculpture Park created by Norwegian sculptor Gustav Vigeland containing 212 sculptures of granite, bronze, and wrought iron. The artist dedicated over twenty years of his life to this installation, including the fountain “Circle of Life” and the “Monolith,” symbolizing the human beings’ desire to reach divine. In the afternoon, we will board a ferry to Copenhagen, Denmark.

Day 5

Copenhagen escorted city tour

At the arrival in Copenhagen, you will have a panoramic sightseeing tour of the capital of Denmark, including the city center. Stop at the world-famous “Little Mermaid,” created by Edward Ericksen in 1913 by H.C.Andersen fairy tale and admire the impressive Gefion Fountain. 

Watch the changing of the guards at the Royal Amalienborg Palace. Next, you will enter the Great Cathedral of Copenhagen and cross the exotic “Freetown Christiania” neighborhood. In the evening, we suggest walking along the main pedestrian street of the Danish capital.

Day 6

Trip to Helsingor from Copenhagen

Today we go for a trip outside Copenhagen. Drive to the city of Helsingor in Northern Denmark to visit Kronborg Castle and stronghold, also known as Elsinore, according to William Shakespeare’s most famous play Hamlet. UNESCO lists include that Renaissance castle.

We will see the moats and the gates of the stronghold, the Royal apartments, and the large Ballroom. 

King Christian IV built by the legendary Frederiksborg Palace, today it is the National History Museum of Denmark. Back to Copenhagen for the musical performance at the Royal Danish Opera House.

Day 7

Art tour in Copenhagen

After breakfast, visit “Ny Glyptotek,” an art museum, disposing of an excellent collection of European and Danish art. You will explore a rich collection of ancient Greek and Roman sculptures, as well as the paintings of Impressionists, including Mane, Mone, Degas, Pissaro, Renoir, Van Gog, and especially Paul Gauguin. Next, we will move to “Carlsberg” breweries to hear the story, watch the production, and taste the famous Danish beer. We will finish our stay in Denmark by an in Nyhavn, most picturesque place in Copenhagen to admire the old houses all painted in different bright colors, and the old ships moored to the old harbor. 

You can also visit Tivoli Gardens, a world-famous amusement and pleasure park in Copenhagen.

Day 8

Scandinavian Tour Package ends in Copenhagen

In the morning, visit Copenhagen City Hall and get acquainted with famous citizens of Denmark, including Hans Christian Andersen, whose sculpture is next door to the City Hall. We finish the Scandinavian Tour Package: Oslo and Copenhagen and drive to the airport for departure flight.
