There are many reasons to visit Lithuania. Interesting history, beautiful Old cities, pleasant and welcoming people, beautiful women, basketball, a lot of churches, baroque architecture… you name the rest. Where to drink a coffee on Vilnius tours?

In this article, I would like to touch different aspect. It was not common in Lithuania a decade ago. Special coffee places. If you would tell somebody in Lithuania, that he has to take his cup of coffee “away” or “coffee to go”. Nobody would understand what id that about.

There were no people with paper cups on the streets. People were sitting in the coffee shops. In Lithuanian “Kavine”. Drinking coffee, having deserts or meals. We saw it in the American movies and thought – “such strange people, why they drink from paper cups”.

Today, we cannot imagine our lives without a beloved small and big coffee shops. There are a lot of them in the city center and in the outskirts as well. You can enjoy a coffee, fresh baked goods, some cakes and a variety of coffee drinks. Ristretto, Espresso, Cappucino, Late, Flat white, with caramel, without it and so on.

We do a lot of Vilnius day tours, and they became much more family-friendly with all the coffee shops. Where we can stop for 5 or 10 minutes to refresh and have a sip of a good coffee.

Caffeine Roasters has been serving exceptional specialty coffees since 2016. Their goal is not to be trendy, but instead to serve a mean cup of coffee in one of the busiest parts of the city.

Caffeine Roasters baristas claim to offer everything that a true coffee lover wishes for: an espresso and brew bar, an artisanal roastery, and staff that travels to different coffee plantations and countries each year in search for the perfect coffee beans. The atmosphere is great, reasonable prices, dog-friendly! It is also one of the cafes with the longest opening hours. You can enjoy your time here until 22:00 (10:00 pm).  Brilliant!

  1. Crooked Nose & Coffee Stories – hipster coffee drinking place

Šaltinių st. 20-17, Vilnius, II – V / 10:00 – 19:00 VI / 10:00 – 16:00 Open: Mon-Fri 10:00 – 19:00 and on Saturday 10:00 – 16:00

Crooked Nose & Coffee Stories is a specialty cafe and micro-roaster located near the historic center of Vilnius. Even if you are not a coffee expert you’ll enjoy this atmosphere. It is a rather small cafe, decorated with lots of greenery. The interior is taken straight out of Instagram and complements a large selection of alternative coffees and cakes.

Their baristas are true coffee enthusiasts and coffee product creators. By the way, Crooked Nose & Coffee Stories serves šakotis, the traditional Lithuanian wedding cake that comes out looking a little like a tree after baking and being turned over a spit. Just try it!

Coffee1 is an independent family-owned coffee shop located in Vilnius’ amazing artistic district – Uzupis. This cafe has two floors, the lower one spacious with a big fireplace in the middle (don’t hesitate to visit it in winter).

Although the coffee isn’t necessarily the best you’ll find in the city, the staff is incredibly friendly and they offer a great range of tasty treats such as cookies, delicious fresh pastry (even vegan) and traditional “tinginys”, which translates as “lazy cake”, because it’s an easy-to-make combination of chocolate, sugar, and biscuits. A coffee and croissant breakfast is available daily.

Coffee1 is welcoming for local coffee lovers and anyone who wants to enjoy a nice cup of coffee while taking in the view of the Uzupis Angel.
